Who Could Win World Car Of The Year?

The Geneva Motor Show took place last week. During the event, the runners up to the most esteemed awards in the car industry were announced. The awards are made up of multiple categories, as well as the overall Car of the Year trophy. There have been some surprise nominations, as well as some good news for Jaguar. The car makers F-Pace have been nominated in two categories, including the Car Design of the Year, as well as the overall trophy. The Performance Car of the Year also brought great news to McLaren, who’s decadent 570S has been shortlisted. It has found itself going up against the gorgeous Audi R8 Spyder, as well as the Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman.

Interestingly enough, SUV’s dominated the categories this year. Especially with the nominations in the overall Car of the Year award. The top three contenders for the overall category are int a tight race (excuse the pun) to get the esteemed title. Tesla has also found themselves on the list, within the Green category. We are looking forward to see who comes out tops there.

Over 27 international jurors will be deciding on the winners in each category. And, luckily, we won’t have too long to wait for the results. The winners will be announced at the New York International Auto Show on April 13 2017. So, who is in the running for each category? We take a look at the nominations.
