Hisense made sure that its presence was felt at CES 2017.
Not only did the company unveil new TVs and announce that they are venturing into QLED TV display technology, they also showed off the unusual A2 smartphone.

Introducing The Hisense A2 Smartphone
What makes this phone so different? It has two displays. But, unlike LG’s V20, which has a secondary display above the main display, the Hisense A2 has an AMOLED display on the front and an e-ink display on the back of the device.
The front of the handset has a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and a 5.2-inch e-ink display with a 960 x 540 resolution on the back. This smartphone is smart home compatible with infrared + Wi-Fi dual more remote.
You can get this phone in a 32GB (ROM) and 3GM (RAM) configuration, or a 64GB (ROM) and 4GB (RAM) configuration.
Official pricing and specs have not yet been released, but according to TENAA, the A2 will come with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and an impressive 4GB of RAM.
The phone is expected to run Android 6 and is rumoured to have either 32GB or 64GB storage, which can be expanded via the microSD card slot.
The rear-facing camera is expected to be a 16MP shooter with an LED flash, while the front-facing camera is expected to be 5MP.
It’s also been said that Hisense will be including a 3,000mAh battery into the device.
According to a Hisense representative at the company’s CES 2017 booth, the e-ink display uses very little power and will save the last image displayed even when the battery dies. Making it the ideal display technology to save things, such as boarding passes, to.
Hisense South Africa has neither confirmed nor denied whether or not the A2 will be coming to South Africa.
