In recent years, smartphones have become showcases for some of the most advanced and innovative technology. Competition in the mobile phone industry is fierce, and 2015 promises to be a big year in the smartphone universe. With smartphone evolution moving along so quickly, the world is constantly in anticipation for the next mobile breakthrough. While there are a number of advanced smartphones currently on the market, mobile tech giants are gearing up to release the newest innovative smartphone technology. We looked at the most notable features of phones that are currently considered to be the best in the world. We also found the release date of all the phones expected to outdo them.
Currently available:
Samsung Note Edge
With a stunning new take on smartphone design, the Galaxy Note Edge is Samsung’s latest release. The device features a curved edge side bar for quick access to personally chosen apps and alerts. This means all notifications are delivered to the side bar and don’t interfere with the main screen. Aside from the cool design, the Note Edge also features a fingerprint sensor, fast battery charging, air gestures, and voice commands.
Moto Droid Turbo
Running Android software, the Turbo is one of the most powerful phones on the market. Even the ballistic nylon casing makes it feel indestructible. Blowing all previous Motorola models away with its impressive software, the Turbo is also water resistant, has an epic 2-3 day battery life, as well as fast charging, and features wireless charging.
iPhone 6
Not just one of the best, it’s also one of the most popular smartphones in the world, and the name speaks for itself. Boasting a bigger screen than previous versions, the iPhone 6 gives the Samsung Galaxy range some stiff competition. The iPhone 6 is not just bigger, but has an upgraded software and battery life from the iPhone 5S.
LG G3
The follow up of the hugely successful G2, the G3 carries mostly the same specs, but with upgraded software and a larger screen. Its QHD screen was a world first, with many smartphone producers following suit and upgrading to the sharper display. It’s also improved from the previous model in terms of its sleeker design, which allows for a removable battery and memory card slot. That it comes in a wide range of pretty colours doesn’t hurt either.
HTC One M8
Based on the popular HTC One, the M8 comes highly recommended. It runs Microsoft Windows, and everything has been upgraded, from the great-to-hold-design to the software. Slightly more affordable than the previously mentioned phones, it has a smart and fast Duo Camera that takes high resolution pictures and processes them faster. It also boasts a longer battery life, and an impressive sound upgrade.
If the best in the world isn’t quite good enough, and you are willing to wait a few months, you could set yourself up with the upgraded versions. The new smartphone releases are highly anticipated, and many companies have yet to release previews. With Apple currently holding the top spot of the best smartphone producer, the competition will be using their latest models to move up the ranks.
