The Ten Most Expensive Cars in the World

The list of the most expensive cars in the world has just been released and we are as excited as you are about this. This list consists of machines that most of us can only dream of. It is packed with sleek-line supercars, V12’s and all of the torque and muscle you could ever imagine. This is certainly the most gorgeous, and expensive list recently published on the internet. Enjoy!

Koenigsegg Regera – $1.9 million = R23,6 million

Starting with the cheapest on the list (don’t choke on your coffee) is the Koenigsegg. This 5.0 litre twinturbo engine pumps out an unimaginable 1,100 horsepower. If that’s not enough, each rear wheel has an electric motor to produce an extra 700hp.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta — $2.2 million = R27.4 million

Going 0-100 in under two seconds, this beast comes flying in at number nine. Pushing out over 1 000hp, the car boasts a 6.3-liter Ferrari F140 V12 engine. It is coupled with a system used in the Formula 1 car, the HY-KERS kinetic energy recapture system.

McLaren P1 GTR — $2.59 million =R32.2 million

The P1 was sold out almost as quickly as it takes off from the line. With only 35 made, they were all snapped up instantly, and there are no more on the market. Sorry to dash your dreams of your next car purchase. It hits 100kms/hr in 2.4 seconds with 1 000hp backing it. It is a track-only model, taking the inspiration from the road version, and stripping it down to sheer unadulterated power.

Bugatti Chiron — $2.6 million = R33.2 million

Who doesn’t drool over a Bugatti? The Veyron was created to simply be the fastest car in the world. The Chiron has now been created to trump that. The handmade engine is similar to the Veyron. It is a quad-turbocharged W-16 8.0-lite, but has been adapted for an output of 1 500hp.

Pagani Huayra BC — $2.8 million = R34.8 million

The most expensive Pagani ever made. It has an AMG engine with a 6.0liter, V12 bi-turbo engine. Its been tuned by Pagani though to pump out 790hp and 811lb-ft of torque. The seven-speed Xtrac transmission is controlled by an electro-hydraulic actuation and carbon fiber synchronizers.

Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio — $3 million = R37.3 million

Originally created as a concept car based on the Spider. The manufactureres however decided to produce it and only six were created. It has a carbon-fibre, is home-made and has no roof, side windows and windshield. It has the same 4.5 liter F1136f V-8 engine as the spider, but is over 300 pound lighter.

Aston Martin Valkyrie — $3 million = R37.3 million

There has been no announced price for this car, but sources have given the nod to around USD 3 million. The car is the brainchild of visionary Aston Martin president, Andy Palmer together with Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey and Christian Horner. The engine will be tailored to achieve the 1:1 power to weight ration and will come in a 6.5 V-12.

Lamborghini Veneno Roadster — $3.3 million =R41.1 million

Costing relatively the same as a private jet, the Veneno is a big ask for no roof above you. The transmission is also tricky, but the thrill of the ride can’t be ignored. Expect a 740-hp, 6.5-liter V-12 with a seven-speed single-clutch ISR automated manual transmission.

Lykan HyperSport — $3.4 million = R42.3

This supercar truly sets itself apart from the others, establishing itself as a pure Arabian creation. Not only is it from Lebanon, but the HyperSport boasts of headlights made with embedded jewels. Yes, you heard correctly. The titanium LED blades have a total of 420 15-karat diamonds! Can we just soak that in for a while! If you can pull your eyes away from that for a while, it also has a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six boxer. Expect  780 horsepower through the rear wheels,  and 0-100 in 2.8 seconds.

McLaren P1 LM — $3.7 million = R46.1 million

There are a few things to know about this car. Firstly, it is based on its sister which we mentioned previously. However, it wasn’t actually built by McLaren. It was built by Lanzante Motorsports, who re-built the entire engine from scratch. Surrounded by gold plating (you read correctly) is the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8. It also has three electric motors between the engine and rear wheels that ensures that this beast reaches 1 000hp.
