by One of South Africa’s top service providers has launched a new data deal promotion.
Telkom has announced that the Mo’Nice promotion will run from January 17 until 28.
This promotion will run on the USSD service and will offer prepaid customers double the value of their recharge voucher when recharging.
Vouchers will include double the value of data and talk time for phone calls. The service provider has promised that they will double any package that their customers purchase.

What Other Promotions Are On Offer?
In recent months, local service providers have been making headlines with their ridiculous data prices. Both MTN and Vodacom dropped their out-of-bundle rates towards the end of last year.
Despite the expensive data rates, providers have amped up their data promotions to ensure that they continue to please customers.
Double Your Data
Vodacom launched their Double Your Data last year, which runs until March 31. Customers can claim double their chosen data purchase on selected once-off data deals.
According to Vodacom’s website, “this means that when purchasing a marked data bundle, you receive an additional data bundle of the same size at no additional cost! Data purchased on this promotion is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase giving you all the time in the world to chat, stream or game online.”
Customers can access these deals via the My Vodacom App.
Cell C’s Double Deal
Competitive data provider, Cell C, has also jumped on the ‘double your data’ band wagon. They are offering a number of selective data deal packages that provides the user with double their original purchase.
An example of this package would the R199 package. This includes 5GB all day data and 5GB night owl data. The double deal therefore instead gives the customer 10GB of data during the data and 10GB night owl.
According to Cell C, this promotion is valid until January 31 and is only available for SIM only customers.
*To access the Mo’Nice promotion, dial *123# and choose the NICE option. Just remember that the promotion only runs for two weeks. Please note that this deal is only available to prepaid customers and not top-up users.
