This Monday, people around the world sat outside in the early evening in hopes of watching one of the most spectacular sightings of the Supermoon.
The name “Supermoon” is due to the size of the moon as it orbits the closest to the Earth since 1948. This is known as a ‘perigee’ and results in the moon appearing 30% brighter and 11% bigger than usual.
The next Supermoon will only make an appearance in 2034. This is what the Supermoon looked like from ten iconic places around the world starting from the USA to the Egyptian temples.
