Microsoft offers you a free upgrade to their new operating system if you are an existing Windows 7 or 8.1 user. This update is available only until 29 July 2016 and people all around the world are grasping at this offer.
However, if you’re on an older version of Windows and wish to purchase the OS, South African retailers sell Windows 10 for R1,700 and Windows 10 Pro for R3,200.
Here’s how you can get yours for free:
You’re a Windows 7 or 8.1 user and you wish to take advantage of the free upgrade, then the first step is to download the installer for the OS through Windows Update. You will be notified when you can begin the installation process…this may take some time.
In case you didn’t know: You can download Windows 10 from Microsoft.com and upgrade. This removes the waiting period and if you signed up for an insider account you don’t need to pay as your account is eligible for a free version. Insider accounts are still available for registration.
