What makes South Africa so innately beautiful is both its simplicity, but also variety, of natural wonders. From the Garden Route to the Big Hole in the Wall, it will likely take a lifetime to travel throughout the Motherland – and still not see everything.

2. Vredenheim Big Cat Park, Stellenbosch
Fancy getting up close and personal with a tiger, lion, cheetah or caracal? Vredenheim, in Stellenbosch, is home to 11 ‘Big Cats’, namely: three brown lions, two white lions, two caracal, one cheetah, one leopard and two Bengal tigers.
The sanctuary is owned by previous long-time game farmers, from Dundee, in Kwazulu Natal. They had such a passion for big cats that they decided to open up a centre where they could educate the public on these magnificent animals.
All animals were selected from approved breeders and are not allowed to procreate. Simply put, these big cats get to do as much sleeping as our domestic cats do (that’s a lot of sleeping!).

3. Hole in The Wall, Eastern Cape, Wild Coast
The Hole in the Wall, is exactly how it sounds. What isn’t said though is the joie de vivre of the Wild Coast and the unmistakable beauty.
The formation is just before the mouth of the Mpako River and many a tale has been told about the unusual structure.
The Xhosa legend knows this land as esiKhaleni or “the place of sound”. Some say it’s due to the resounding cracking sound the rocks make when waves crash against them.
